  NASA’s James Webb Space Telescope reveals emerging stellar nurseries and individual stars in the Carina Nebula  This landscape of “mountains” and “valleys” speckled with glittering stars is the edge of a nearby, young, star-forming region called NGC 3324 in the Carina Nebula. Captured in infrared light by NASA’s new James Webb Space Telescope, this image reveals previously invisible areas of star birth.

Annual Human Rights Lecture The Removal of Human Rights? Professor Alwyn Jones Dominic Raab, the Justice Secretary, said that his new Bill of Rights would “reinforce” human rights protection, but Liberty called it a “rights removal Bill”. The talk will explore this debate. While the Bill was shelved temporarily during Liz Truss’s time as Prime Minister, Rishi Sunak re-appointed Dominic Raab as Justice Secretary in October 2022. In November, the Bill was still listed on the Parliament web site and it seems likely that the government will ask Parliament to enact the Bill, or a similar proposal.
