Dead End Street a film written and directed by Kirti Joshi   This film is based on Kirti's earlier play and the plot revolves around drug addiction, mental health, homelessness and denial in Leicester. Kirti will introduce the film followed by Questions and Answers.    The follow up 'Heartache Avenue' will be released this summer.   All welcome - admission free . Donations welcome.

Sunday 8th September 2024 - External Features of Leicester's Terraced Houses

Colin Hyde  This talk shows that Leicester’s Victorian terraced housing is not all the same; it has a wide variety of design and decoration. In the last quarter of the 19 th century brick and terracotta companies produced a huge variety of decoration that could be added to the smallest houses. Leicester’s builders used a lot of this decoration. Along with the influence of changing fashion and design, this has left a fascinating legacy that we can enjoy today.
